Anaheim Public Library brings, "Our Town, Anaheim"to life with their community-wide reading event From March 14 to April 11, Anaheim Public Library will lead a community-wide reading and exploration of Thornton Wilder's play, "Our Town."
The play is set in 1901 in the fictional town of Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire. The award-winning story provides an interesting perspective on time, companionship, and life through the perspective of two families.
Anaheim Library will bring the story to life with programs for all ages and presentations led by the Anaheim Heritage Center, Anaheim Brewery, Charles Phoenix and many more at your neighborhood branch. It’s all part of the National Endowment of the Arts Big Read program, a national program to promote reading across America.
Throughout the month, Anaheim Library will give out copies of “Our Town,” lead book and panel discussions and host a series of programs celebrating the cultural diversity of Anaheim’s residents, both past and present.
Step back in time and kick off the reading celebration with a "Big Retro Disneyland Presentation" with Charles Phoenix and historical activities by the Anaheim Heritage Center at Central Library on Saturday, March 14 at 2 p.m.
