Virtual Author visit with Kelly Yang

Children’s book author Kelly Yang shares her memories of growing up in Anaheim that lead to her award-winning book Front Desk; a timely, hopeful middle-grade novel with a contemporary Chinese American twist.

This novel takes inspiration from Kelly’s life story, as her family immigrated to the United States from China when she was a young girl and managed a motel in California.

This author event is suitable for ages 7 and up.

This program is in partnership with Anaheim Public Library, Altrusa International of Anaheim and the Anaheim Elementary School District for the Creative Writing Project.

The project offers students an opportunity to develop creative writing skills and an avenue for self-reflection through the prompt Finding My Voice, Telling My Story.

The project is hosted annually in the fall for 4th grade students at 23 AESD schools.
